Plan the entire course of laundry, from reception to ready-made textiles.
Start with your daily work.
Before you compare models, write down what your laundry handles on a regular working day. Separate bedding, towels, work clothes and other textiles. Record the quantities, delivery times and the number of hours available. Specially mark the day of the highest load: an average day can cover up a problem that occurs on weekends or during the season.
As a basis for the conversation, prepare a table with the amount of textiles and the time until when it must be ready. This is more useful than the question “What is the largest machine we can buy?”.
Rated capacity is not the same as daily output
The capacity label speaks about the amount that a specific model receives according to the manufacturer's specification. The daily effect also depends on the duration of the selected programs, preparation, loading, discharge and organization of the shift. Check the conditions for each model in the the Official TOLON Washing Machine Program.
For an initial estimate, consider the number of cycles realistically completed per shift and the actual load per cycle. This is a planning estimate, not guaranteed output. Different textiles and programs can produce different results.
Washing is just one step.
Keep track of what happens after washing. If wet laundry piles up in front of the dryer or textiles waiting for finishing, the additional washing machine may not solve the downtime. Make an overview of the time and available capacity for washing, drying, ironing and folding.
TOLON Designing a Laundry considers the daily scope, space and energy conditions as parts of the same system. For your project, you are looking for a harmonized proposal of all stages, not an isolated choice of one machine.
What to prepare for the selection of equipment
- Daily and maximum expected amount of textiles.
- Types of materials and programs you use.
- The number of shifts and deadlines by which the laundry must be ready.
- Room plan, connections and existing equipment.
- The stage that currently causes the longest wait.
With this information, capacity planning becomes more practical. Our team can help you compare models and layouts that suit your actual workload.
